We have organised a
"Sunday Steampunk Steam Train Social..." with the Ffestiniog Railway on the 8th May 2022.

Come along for a steam powered trip through the beautiful Welsh countryside in the Ffestiniog Railway's vintage carriages.

The Woodland Wanderer steam train service departs from Porthmadog at 09:45 and arrives at Tan-y-Bwlch, where it will stay for 1 hour. Plenty of time for photo opportunities posing with the locomotive and carriages, as well as the stunning nature trails. The café will of course be open in the meantime! The train will arrive back in Porthmadog at 12:15

There are 35 compartments on the train, each seating up to 6 per booking. Tickets can now be purchased from the Ffestiniog Railway booking site, click the 'Book Tickets' button to be directed. If you wish to change your bookings, you can do so by phoning Ffestiniog Railway at 01766 516024

  • By Car:

    Porthmadog has several large public car parks, as well as a small one at our station.

    The postcode for the station is "Harbour Station, Porthmadog LL49 9NF".

    Blaenau Ffestiniog has two public car parks adjacent to our station.

    By Train:

    Porthmadog: From the North - Use trains on the Chester - Holyhead mainline, then change at Llandudno Junction for a train along the Conwy Valley Line to our joint station in Blaenau Ffestiniog. From the Midlands - Use trains, via Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, for the Cambrian Coast Line. Alight at either Minffordd (2 minutes walk - Minffordd FR) or Porthmadog (15 minutes walk - F&WHR Harbour Station). Both services are run by Arriva Trains Wales. Through tickets available from mainline stations.

    By Bus:

    Porthmadog is well served by bus services which stop in the main street near the station.

  • Parking is available in Porthmadog Harbour Station (LL49 9NF) where we have a £2.00 all day car park. If it is full we have a Car Park Host who will direct you to our overflow Car Park which is also £2.00 all day.
